Meet Our Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrists

“An ADHD assessment isn’t just about diagnosing symptoms; it’s about carefully understanding your child’s unique context at home, at school, and in their social world. By building a complete picture, we can uncover what’s really going on and find the right support to help your child thrive.”

— Dr Tania Saour, Consultant Child & Psychiatrist

To find out if an ADHD assessment is the right next step for your child.

What happens in an ADHD Assessment?

Your child’s online ADHD assessment will be with a specialist child and adolescent psychiatrist who takes the time to build a full understanding of their challenges. Together, we’ll talk through your child’s symptoms, their strengths and difficulties at home, at school, and in social situations.

We’ll send questionnaires to you and your child’s school to gather insights from the people who know them best. If not already completed, we’ll also send a link for an executive function (EF) simulation test to help us understand how your child manages tasks in a real-world context.

If a diagnosis is made, we’ll explain your options clearly — including support strategies, therapy, and medication if appropriate. Our goal is to give your family answers and a plan to help your child move forward with confidence.

Treatment and Support for ADHD in Children & Adolescents

With the Right Support, ADHD Can Be Managed Effectively

Medication can help children improve focus, reduce impulsivity, and support better attention in school and at home — and your child’s psychiatrist will guide you through safe and appropriate options. But medication is just one part of a comprehensive support plan.

Therapies like CBT, ADHD coaching, and talking therapy can help your child develop skills for emotional regulation, organisation, and confidence. We also offer nutritional therapy and fitness guidance to support energy levels, mood, and overall well-being — helping your child feel their best in mind and body.

Together, these approaches can make a big difference in how your child manages ADHD and experiences daily life.

Our Fees – What’s Included in Your ADHD Assessment

Comprehensive Child & Adolescent ADHD Assessment – £950 £760

Your child’s appointment lasts up to 90 minutes with a consultant psychiatrist who specialises in ADHD in children and adolescents. During the session, we’ll explore your child’s symptoms, developmental and medical history, and complete a structured diagnostic interview.

Executive Function Simulation Test – Included

An EF Sim test (usually £90) is included at no extra cost to help us understand how your child manages real-world tasks. If you’ve already purchased the EF Sim test separately, we’ll reduce the assessment price by £90.

You’ll receive a clinical report within 5 working days, which includes:

  • A clear diagnosis (if appropriate)

  • Some children see a reduction in ADHD symptoms as they get older, especially hyperactivity, which can become less noticeable in adolescence and adulthood. However, many continue to experience challenges with attention, organisation, or impulsivity into their teenage years and adult life.

Even if symptoms change over time, ADHD is a neurodevelopmental condition — it doesn’t simply go away. With the right support, children can learn strategies to manage their symptoms effectively, build on their strengths, and thrive at school, at home, and socially.

Getting an early diagnosis and the right interventions can make a big difference in helping children reach their full potential.

  • Many children can be energetic, distracted, or impulsive at times — it’s part of normal childhood development. But when these behaviours are intense, happen often, and cause significant problems at home, school, or with friends, it could be a sign of ADHD.

ADHD isn’t just “naughty” or “difficult” behaviour — it’s a neurodevelopmental condition that affects how the brain manages attention, impulse control, and organisation. A comprehensive assessment with a specialist can help you understand whether your child’s challenges are due to ADHD or other factors, such as anxiety, learning difficulties, or changes in their environment.

Getting a clear diagnosis can bring clarity and relief, helping you find the right strategies and support to help your child thrive.

  • Treatment for ADHD in children is most effective when it combines different approaches tailored to your child’s needs. Options can include:

Behavioural strategies and parenting support – Techniques to help manage challenging behaviours, build routines, and improve communication.
School support – Strategies and adjustments to help your child succeed in the classroom, such as extra time, movement breaks, or individualised learning plans.
Therapy – Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) or other talking therapies can help children develop skills for emotional regulation, organisation, and social interactions.
Medication – For some children, stimulant or non-stimulant medications can improve attention and reduce hyperactivity or impulsivity. Medication is carefully prescribed and monitored by a specialist psychiatrist.
Nutritional therapy and lifestyle support – Healthy diet, regular exercise, and good sleep can positively impact attention, mood, and energy levels.
ADHD coaching – Some families find coaching helpful for older children or teens to learn time management, study skills, and self-organisation.

A personalised treatment plan brings these options together, supporting your child in all areas of life so they can reach their full potential.
